Next stop on the tour was Strokkur Geysir. Old Faithful at Yellowstone is superior to this geyser IMHO. It spouted about every 5-6 minutes for just a few seconds to a height of about 60-100 ft. The English word "geyser" comes from Geysir, the proper name of a famous hot spring in the Haukadalur valley of Iceland. The name Geysir is derived from the Old Norse and Icelandic verb geysa, which means "to gush" or "to rage".
