... they poured molten lava down a ramp into the room. The radiant heat from the molten lava was intense. The tour guide talked about the lava and "played" with it using a long metal rod. He showed how it cooled on top but was still VERY hot and molten underneath. They used old crushed lava rock that was heated in a blast furnace in a back room to make the lava flow.
