After leaving the firetower, we drove to Riggins, ID. The next day we had arranged to take a jet boat ride on the Snake River in Hell’s Canyon. From Riggins we had to drive quite a way thru some wilderness to get to the Snake River access point. We had to drive down to the end of the valley shown above and turn left to reach the river. Just to get to this point we had already driven about ½ hr to the top of this ridge.
