From the castle, we went to see "The Kelpies". A kelpie is a shape-shifting water spirit from Scottish folklore that typically haunts rivers, streams, and lochs. It often takes the form of a magnificent, riderless horse. Once a person is on its back, the kelpie's skin becomes adhesive, trapping the rider. It plunges into the deep water to drown and devour its victims.
